Fire Alarms
Fire Alarms Save Lives
Fire alarms safe lives. Fire alarms are essential in protecting us from the devastating effects of fire. They are designed to alert us in case of a fire emergency, and they give us the precious seconds we need to evacuate safely.
Fire alarms are a critical part of any fire safety plan. They are the first line of defence against fire and can be the difference between life and death. They work by detecting smoke or heat and sounding an alarm to alert occupants of the building. This warning can be the key to escaping a fire in time.
It is crucial to have functioning fire alarms installed in every room of your home or workplace. The Irish standards I.S 3218:2013 recommends installing smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of the home, including the basement. In workplaces, fire alarms should be installed in every room, hallway, and stairwell.
Regular maintenance of fire alarms is also crucial. Batteries should be changed regularly, and the entire system should be tested at least once a month to ensure that it is working correctly. If a fire alarm is not working correctly, it may not sound an alarm in case of an emergency, putting everyone in the building at risk
